ABOUT THE ARTIST

Micol Biasetti has an
international background; born to Italian parents in Lima, Peru’,
she has lived in four different countries for extended periods of
time.
She graduated from an
international school in Caracas, Venezuela, and her academic
success, along with parental pressure, led her to obtain an MD with
highest honors in Milan, Italy. Her scientific background, however,
did not put an end to her artistic zeal.
During the past three
years, Micol has dedicated herself to raising her children and
painting. She puts an enormous amount of passion in her work,
expressing herself through abstract paintings on canvas boards or
wooden panels.
By exploring the many
advantages of acrylic paint, and by trusting her instincts, Micol
has developed her own vigorous style. Her work was described to
convey a sense of immediacy and spontaneity through the skillful
expression of movement, rhythm, color, dimension and texture.
Micol’s artwork has qualified for representation by
Agora Gallery in Chelsea New York (www.agora-gallery.com
)and American Fine Art Gallery in Dallas Texas (www.americanfineart.com).Her
work was also exhibited at the X Gallery in Dallas Texas (www.500xgallery.org)
and The Italian Club of Dallas. Additionally, Micol is collaborating with Mosaic (www.mosaicinfo.org),
a ministry that opens its doors to people with disabilities. Her
partnership with Mosaic includes bi-annual auctions, among other
exciting events, during which 20% of the proceeds is donated to
charity.
At the end of 2007, Micol started an exciting
partnership with entrepreneur-visionary Clayton Philips, who created
the ambitious “Tuscany – Art in Dining” project in Grapevine, Texas.
The lavish Italian restaurant will feature Micol’s art from its
opening day in May 2008.
